PIMOZIDE
Drug Treatments for Facial Neuralgias

Disclaimer.

Sold under the trade name Orap.

Pimozide is actually a neuroleptic (anti-psychotic drug) that has been used for treatment of chronic schizophrenia. It is also used for the treatment of Tourette's Syndrome. Use for TN has also been suggested, but nothing conclusive has been heard so far.

Pimozide can have a variety of serious side effects, like most neuroleptics. The most dislikable side effect is that the muscles of the body may begin twitching involuntarily or become unusually rigid. Other side effects are also possible.
