An anticonvulsant.

Very similar to phenytoin (Dilantin). Usable when carbamazepine or other anticonvulsants cannot be used due to adverse effects. Gabapentin sometimes appears to be in combination with other anticonvulsants, as it may strengthen the effects of these drugs.
