FLUOXETINE
Drug Treatments for Facial Neuralgias

Disclaimer.

Formal information

Trade names Prozac (US), Seronil, Fontex (Europe).

An antidepressant.

The use of fluoxetine to treat TN appears to be somewhat experimental. It is a possible choice when the side effects of tricyclic antidepressants are bad enough to make them unusable. Fluozetine has few known side effects. However, it is currently extremely expensive.
