This page lists the most important scientific references that we have been able to find. We have included only information which does not violate copyright, that is, references to the original sources, plus a few sentences describing in our own words what the article seems to be about.

The citations listed in these pages came from numerous sources, both national and international. The majority of references come from Medline, which is available to the public via the PubMed database at the National Library of Medicine. Because it is often confusing to understand medical subject headings (MeSH), we have attempted to categorize the most relevant citations into clearly defined sub-topics as they relate to facial pain. Where ever possible, we have cross referenced the citations, which is why you will find some citations duplicated on several pages.

In most cases, the full text of the literature is not available because of copyright restrictions. (We have been able to link directly to some abstracts via the PubMed database.) However, a few very kind publishers have made exceptions and have made the full text or parts of it available to us. In those cases, we have included a link to the original material. We wish to extend a special thanks to these publishers.

These pages are continually revised as we add more citations and gain permission to publish the full text of articles. You may want to search the PubMed database for additional articles of interest.

Search the PubMed database.
